IRF Gordon Miller Lifetime Achievement Award
The International Ranger Federation is calling for nominations for its inaugural IRF Gordon Miller Lifetime Achievement Award. The award will be presented to the successful candidate at the 10th IRF World Ranger Congress in Hyères, France.
The IRF Gordon Miller Lifetime Achievement Award will be presented on a 3-4 yearly basis to an individual who has been involved in a career relating to the conservation, preservation, promotion and/or protection of the natural environment especially those whose actions have positively impacted rangers.
Selection criteria:
This award is given to any person, who has been involved in a career of conservation, preservation, promotion and or protection of the natural environment at any level and especially impacting on ranger work, outputs and support, whether it be at grassroots level or right through to a strategic management level.
The successful candidate should have shown a great capacity for achieving conservation goals throughout their career, in the conservation and preservation of cultural and natural assets.
The IRF Gordon Miller Lifetime Achievement Award will be evaluated and selected by the current IRF Awards Panel.

The successful candidate will be selected by the current IRF Awards Panel. The decision of the selection panel is final, and no correspondence will be entered into. The successful candidate will be notified prior to the World Ranger Congress.
The Award:

IRF Young Ranger Award
The International Ranger Federation is calling for nominations for the IRF Young Ranger Award. The award will be presented to the successful candidate at the 10th IRF World Ranger Congress in Hyères, France.
The award aims to recognise and raise awareness of the outstanding contributions made by young rangers to the conservation of protected and conserved areas; it honours their efforts and their passion, dedication and commitment. It also seeks to encourage young professionals and to support them, to develop networks, by presenting the award at the 10th IRF World Ranger Congress.
This Award supports the International Ranger Federation in fulfilling one of its objectives, which is to raise the profile of rangers globally.
Selection criteria:
The award is for young rangers (35 or under), who are actively working to protect and manage protected and conserved areas, by carrying out the duties of a ranger (as per IRF Ranger definition). It may include people working for government agencies, the private sector, non-government organizations, local communities, etc. Their work must be innovative and demonstrate leadership and a passion, dedication and commitment to protected and conserved areas. Nominations are encouraged from individuals who are familiar with the accomplishments of the nominee.
The recipient is selected based on responses to a series of questions designed to give the nominator or the candidate an opportunity to describe the candidate’s qualifications, work and the scale and impact of their contribution to protected and conserved areas.
The IRF Young Ranger Award will be selected by the IRF Awards Panel. It must be noted that the Panel´s decision is final.
